Service & Parts Coordinator

Westfield Generators Ltd – Cumbernauld

At Westfield Generators, we pride ourselves in being a Caterpillar Power Partner with excellent customer service. We sell and install standby power solutions UK wide in addition to our busy Service Department maintaining customers’ installations to a high standard on over 200 sites. Our presence in the UK market has grown significantly in the past few years through obtaining and retaining service contracts with a bespoke portfolio of clients, with continued expansion planned in 2018.  As part of the team, you will be instrumental in maintaining relationships with our clients and ensuring their business keeps running even when the lights go out.

Service & Parts Coordinator

As the Service & Parts Coordinator you will deliver a high level of Customer Service.  You will be required to develop a sound knowledge of diesel generators, how the products operate and overall installation and maintenance methods.  You’ll be taking customer calls, logging faults, briefing service engineers as well as scheduling the appropriate service and repair visits. Throughout the process you’ll keep in touch with the customers to ensure their queries are dealt with in a timely to satisfactory standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Handling incoming customer emails and telephone enquiries effectively and efficiently
  • Updating our operating system, booking visits with customers
  • Scheduling engineers diaries with service visits
  • Liaising with engineers to ensure works are completed within specified timescales and in a cost-effective manner
  • Providing quotations for new business and renewals for existing customers
  • Administration tasks including invoicing and general updating of our operating systems

Essential skills/attributes

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience of using this software on a day to day basis
  • Good attention to detail

  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Pro-active, energetic and positive approach
  • Can work on own initiative

Desirable Skills

  • Previous administration experience in a generator company or other engineering firm
  • Finance/sage

 

Job Type

  • Permanent, full-time. Mon – Fri 8am to 4.30pm
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience

Generator Service Engineer

Our presence in the UK market has grown significantly in the past few years through obtaining and retaining service contracts with a bespoke portfolio of clients, with continued expansion planned in 2018.  As part of our dedicated Engineering team, you will deliver an exceptional service to give our clients confidence that they have a reliable installation and backup on hand at all times.

Generator Service Engineer

As a Generator Service Engineer you will be expected to carry out on-site servicing of customer diesel generating sets across UK through identifying and diagnosing faults, coming up with solutions and testing of equipment.  You will have a good ability and aptitude to be able to carry out repairs to keep the client operational. Dependant on site locations, the successful applicant may need to work away from home occasionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Work within our Engineering team to ensure our clients’ generators are supported, serviced and repaired to a high standard
  • Represent and promote the company on clients’ sites
  • Carry out repairs, investigations, and panel upgrades
  • Be involved in generator installations, load testing and commissioning as required
  • Fill out reports accurately and to a high standard
  • Partake in the call out rota

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years working in the diesel generator field
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in engineering – electrical/mechanical
  • Knowledge of a variety of manufacturers’ equipment

Ability to work as a team player and also unsupervised

  • Clean UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Manufacturers’ training courses
